THIS SHOWS THE ARDUINO UNO R3 BOARD CONNECTED TO LED LABS, THE ATMEGA328PU IS REMOVED AND PLACED IN TO THE 28 PIN DIL SOCKET ON LED LABS.

THE RST, TX, RX, AND A COMMON OV LINE IS TAKEN FROM THE UNO BOARD AND LINKED TO LED LABS TO PROGRAM INSITU.

THE SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING ENVIRONMENT ON THE COMPUTER IS ARDUINO IDE AND IS FREE TO DOWNLOAD WITH LOTS OF SKETCHES AND RESOURCES.

THIS IS A  DEVICE THAT CONNECTS TO A USB PORT OF A COMPUTER, AND UNDER THE ARDUINO IDE PROGAMMING ENVIRONMENT COULD ALSO PROGRAM THE ATMEGA328PU DIRECTLY ON LEDLABS, WITHOUT THE ARDUINO UNO DEVELOPMENT BOARD.

THE ATMEGA328PU USUALLY HAS THE R3 BOOT LOADER OPTION INSTALLED WHEN USING ARDUINO UNO R3 BOARD. THE ATMEGA328PU CAN BE PURCHASED AS AN IC ON ITS OWN WITH OR WITHOUT THE R3 BOOT LOADER.
